ST GEORGES LAKE

Public BBQ

St George's Lake is a delightful family-friendly spot, ideal for various recreational activities. Surrounded by large trees, it offers ample shade and a serene setting for picnics. The lake is a hub for water activities, from swimming to kayaking and paddleboarding. Its waters may seem a bit chilly and muddy but still great for those who dare. Fishing enthusiasts can try their luck here, and there's a beach area that deepens quickly, making it suitable for more adventurous swimmers. An easy and scenic leisurely walk around the lake is a must-do, featuring a well-maintained track that's perfect for a family stroll. The trail could get slippery after the rain, but it's still worth the experience. Look out for a rock wall and jump-off spots on the opposite side for an adrenaline rush. The site has a composting toilet, a rainfall hand wash, and a decently sized car park with an overflow area. It gets busy during the summer, but there's room for everyone, even on public holidays.
